I chose this online journal because it offers a lot of information surrounding the openings of independent films at festivals and there overall place in the cinematic world. Since I am mostly exposed to mainstream films (outside of class of course) I can learn about what is currently being created around the world.

Indiewire is a great site to follow. Has a lot, is a real chatterbox in fact, with its insistent desire to be about all that is going on. It’s newswires, alerts, call for entries are frequently punctuated by longer reviews, essays (of a sort), critical interventions. A lot to follow but it does give a series of pictures of our contemporary scene - "mainstream" and not.
I look forward to reading your posts.
